Garry Kasparov is the world's best known chess grandmaster and one of the greatest chess players in history. Ranked first in the world for 20 years from 1985 to 2005, Garry was also undisputed World Chess Champion from 1985 until 1993 and continued to be "classical" World Chess Champion (of the PCA and WCA) until 2000. He announced his retirement from professional chess in March 2005, deciding to devote his time to politics instead of chess.
Besides winning championships and tournaments, Garry has taken chess to a whole new level by using his own versatility and experience to become a one-man chess ambassador to the world. In 1997, he took IBM's challenge to match wits against Deep Blue, a customized supercomputer. Throughout this event, he demonstrated the power of the human mind and pitted logical thought against the multiple algorithms of a supercomputer.
As a chess grandmaster, Garry is uniquely qualified to explain how businesses can benefit from dynamic strategic planning, adaptability and creativity to enhance their performance and increase productivity and profits.
